IT'S IN THE NAME
A Refuge in the Wilderness
It is our vision to provide our residents with a safe, supportive, and accountable environment in order to foster the spiritual and personal growth necessary to become productive members of society and, ultimately, the men that God created them to be.

This vision is captured perfectly with two Old Testament Scriptures. The first, Isaiah 43: 16, 18-19 which states, "Thus says the Lord...Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder the things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert." What a wonderful opportunity we have to partner with our residents as God does something new through their wilderness journey. With that in mind, the second portion of our name is derived from Nahum 1:7 which declares, "The Lord is good, a stronghold in a day of trouble; He protects those who take refuge in Him." We are keenly aware that no programming or polices and procedures will be successful outside of God. He is the creator and sustainer of this ministry and the lives that are impacted by it.
